Well here I sat in 1977 tearing apart my first chevy pickup. My dad said a little frustrated why did you take apart a perfectly running truck!!!!!!! He was a mechanic, god bless him for what he passed on to me. I said dad I just need to make it cool and fast. Even though he sounded mad I bet a million bucks he walked away with a smirking grin thinking thats my boy. Sometimes it isn't the things we wish for but its the things that are passed on to us. So for the next 30 years here is a couple projects I completed and the last picture is whats behind the curtain. I will be posting more pictures soon. Thanks for checking them out.

Here are some photos from the start of this rebuild. I can't begin to think about the many hours that is ahead so I just plug away an hour at a time. Being fussy makes the pace a little slower but it should be worth it in the end.

The box was the best place for starting. I had to remove fillers that had been welded into the tailght sections. The front crosspanel is replaced. When I purchased the truck it had a large section cut out of the floor for the frame to clear and no inner fender wells. The tailgate weighed a ton from being over constructed so I replaced that also. The new inner fenders are stretched 4 inches and a center section was construcred to close out the bed. The tailights are back and I replaced the broken fiberglass roll pan with a no plate steel one. I went on to fill the bed post holes and welded the front bed panel in place so there is no bolts showning between the cab. Mounts were welded and finshed to accept the Gaylord lid. To finish out the bodywork was completed and the bed was lined inside and underside with spray in bed lining to seal and quiet the truck when it hits the road. More pictures to come about the cab. Is that front bed panel welded to the bedsides? Looks sweet by the way.

Yes I never liked the bolts being noticible between the cab and bed so I removed them and welded the panel to the box sides.

I already love the truck and no paint yet! Hopefully mine will be driving by spring so all of us AZ guys can get together like we have been talking about.

Over the past couple weeks I removed the rear end and started the modifications. We shortened 5 inches for a flange to flange width of 53.5 inches. The old home made shock mounts flew the coop and cleaner adjustable mounts were added. Cleaned up the stabilizer bar welds preparing for powder coating, installation of new posi unit 3.73 gears and wilwood rear disc brakes. Will post those pics soon.

What a nice looking truck. It is almost a shame to have to paint it. It looks nice just sitting there in primer. I staying glued to this build.:metal:

Here is the latest pictures after shortening the rear end 5" putting in a new posi unit and 3:73 gears. installed new adjustable shock mounts and powder coated the custom trailing arms and rear in silver vain. Hope you like and will post more pics later.
