Edelbrock 1406 carb Q- manual not that clear
Guys , need some input.
My new Edelbrock 1406 that I put on started right up the first try, but I noticed that the cold (fast idle) was reving up to 3,000 so I shut it down and backed the fast Idle screw all the way out. Now when I start cold, it seems to start right away , and then the rpms drop right off. The only way to keep running is if I manually keep the accelerator down, but it floods until engine gets up to temp, and choke opens up. Then it idles great. Think that my problem is simply that I do not have that fast idle cam screw turned in enough. How do you set this fast idle screw. Is it suppost to touch the fast idle cam which holds the accelerator out a bit, and then as the choke slowly opens it slides down the came until it does not contact, and then the idle screw that is set takes over? The manual shows you the locations of the screws but does not explain how to adjust. Am I right about this? |
you just need to adjust the electric chock. loosen the the screws that hold the chock cover and adjust it. reset your fast idle. you should be ok
