Alternator question

I upgraded my '70 during the motor swap to a one wire 1987 Silverado alternator. As with most motor swaps something always gets left untightened....aside from the lower rad hose, the jumper wire was found loose on the post today and the nut came off during the trip into or out of Dallas. Problem is that it's metric and I don't have the right thread pitch anywhere in my bolt & nut drawer.

Anyone happen to know the size and pitch I need? I know I can go in and buy several to find it, but I'd much rather know the exact size cause I have to get into the muffler shop early tomorrow morning.

I have to assume that you have CS130 Delcotron alternator. The flange for the tensioning bolt and the alternator bracket are tapped for metric bolts so you will need to get M8 x 1.25 bolt. Pivot shaft, if I recall, was drilled for M10 x 1.5. Battery terminal used M6 x 1mm

All the mounting bolts are tight....I need the nut that goes on the one wire terminal on back. I am going now to get a few mettric nuts to see which one might work. I have the alternator that was listed here in the one wire switch FAQ...not sure of the number as i can't find the thread right now.

I am guessing since I have no idea which alternator you have on your rig. If it CS-130 then a single wire (BAT) terminal is likely to use M6 x1.0. Good luck

I have the Ultima 01-0260 from O'Reiily's and you are correct. I went in and they had a sizer and that size fit perfectly. Problem solved!
