Which accelerator cable?

K, put a 396/th400 from a 69 c20 into a 68 gmc 1500. Put an accelerator cable in(using 71-72 style kickdown and gas pedal) and it's too long. No problem, looks to be approx. 10 inches long(firewall to bracket on carb) to work. All I have is 11" cables, so I run to a junkyard and found a 10 inch one out of a 70 monte carlo, get home and it's broke(doh!). So I run down to local chevrolet dealership hoping they can still get them. Right on, they can still order them, it's listed as 350,400 ex. 4wd for application on 71-72 truck/blazer. Get's here today, bam, 11" cable! So I go back and had them place an order for one for a 71-72 4wd blazer w/ 350. My question is, does anyone know of another year car or truck that will have the right cable? I took one off of a 71 402/4speed truck and it's 11 inches too, but my brother has one off of a 72 402/th400 truck that's 10 inches? Thanks for any help and sorry for the long read!
