clutch plate position

kind of a dumb question..but if you're not sure ask.right??

the friction plate for my small block.............simply put,,, which way does it fit against the flywheel??

with the part of the disc and springs that is the tallest in the center away from the flywheel or towards it..???????????????

thank you.

The splines have a taper for the engagement on one side for the trans input shaft,, I asume this goes towards the transmission......

Makes sence afterall.. that 's where the lead in is to the splines... for tranny shaft..

all of the books say "side marked flywheel side towards flywheel" which in my case there is nothing marked.

Thanks again guys...........it's great to have a second opinion..;)
