Shiny new system. (Full Arc Audio build)
 

Well, I'm about to get my truck back from the shop. It's been a long journey thanks largely in part to a BAD parts supplier. Everything is good to go though.

Here are the pics and specs on the new system:

Reusing the Pioneer DEH-880PRS headunit. Only part int he entire system that was reused.

Two sets of ARC6000 components in the doors. Crossovers are hidden behind the armrests in the door panel.

ARC6000 Mid-bass speaker in each modified kick panel. Tweeters mounted in dash corners.

Personal favorite feature (big thanks to Ken [N2TRUX] for the idea). ARC Audio PEQ 7-band parametric equalizer. All volume and tuning controlled through this unit.

Kinetik HC600 batteries in the cab corners. Will be hidden by a panel which is being finished as I type this.

The parts you can't see:

ARC Audio KS300.4 amplifier
ARC Audio KS1000.1 amplifier
iPod adapter (in glove box. iPod will be controlled through the headunit)
All new Stinger wiring and fusing
60sqft of Dynamat Xtreme (Doors are completely covered inside and out. Headliner, back wall, and floor all covered as well)

I want to thank ARC Audio for providing me with their amazing products and support. I also want to take a second to thank the team at Auto Radio Stereo her in Sacramento who handled the installation. Mike Edwards, Mike Cacy, Flint, Adam DeFazio, and Fransisco. Mostly, I want to thank my dad for helping me keep my cool when things got tough and also for fronting me the money that made this install possible.

Do those extra batteries act similar to capacitors ?

I live in sacramento too, where did you get the work done? I am hoping to get a setup similar to that in my 75. It turned out awesome.

The Kinetik HC600 batteries do act as a sort of capacitor for the system. They can release energy faster than a standard battery and can hold just as much with half the size. Each one of the two Kinetik batteries has the ability to start my truck.

No pics of the build up on the amp install as it happened pretty fast and I was spending alot of time just rying to get ahold of parts for the interior. Add that to a harsh work schedule and a personal life and you're left with not much time to run to the shop to grab pics...

All work was done by Auto Radio Stereo here in Sacramento. They do excellent work and are by far the most trust worthy shop I've come across.

Nope. 60sqft of Dynamat make sure that there is no rattling. Also, everything is well constructed. The box has so much reinforcement, that you could drive a car onto it and it would hold.

I got to play with it a bit today. The separation is pretty dam good. Not as good as my MB Quarts, but then again, these didn't cost $1100 a set...

It's also loud as hell. That last system was loud. This one blows it out of the water. Half volume is almost literally unbearable. If I were to turn this thing up to the limit, it would literally hurt. We haven't even done the final tuning yet... A rough guess puts the volume at 135dB while playing music. That's louder than a Boeing 737 at take off.

I'll see if I can get some better/cooler pics today, maybe even see what I can do about getting pics of the amps and such. No promises on that one though.

Initial guesses put it at around 135dB while playing music. That number will go up depending on what song and after the tuning is done. Right now I'm breaking everything in and seeing what I want to work on.

I'm sure I said this before, but I'll say it again, this thing is loud. Driving down the freeway @ 70mph, both windows rolled down, and stereo halfway up, it hurts, literally.

Truck goes in to the body shop next tuesday for the last work before the show.

Yeah I've rode in one that was hitting 141 db. It was not up all the way, and it gave me a pretty good head ache.

Can't remember off the top of my head. I know the color was "Live Oak" but other than that, I'm lost right now.

I wanted to get some new pics of the stereo and the truck today, but the battery in my camera protested. Something about dying. I think it's being melodramatic...

I have sub box that I made housing a single 10" behind my seats right now. But I am planning on building a custom dual sub box similar to yours, with a Rockford Fosgate brushed logo in the middle. Do you have any rough dimensions of your box?
