edelbrock intake help???
Hey guys i installed an edelbrock performer intake on my 350. I forgot to notice if the intake had the center port water jackets in the middle....or if they were blocked off.......(big dummy)lol
I installed the gaskets with open port option...(didnt use the metal block tabs) Now instead of tearing my manifold and carb off to check, im hoping you guys have one laying arond to see if there is a casting port for the water jacket or if its blocked off....... Mine is a dual plane #2101 461428casting...... HELP!!!:pty: |
Re: edelbrock intake help???
mine were open there was a big hump on the bottom of the intake where the water channel went under the intake runners to the opposite side. I don't know if mine is the same model number but its a edelbrock dual plane. hope that helps.

Re: edelbrock intake help???
The center port is an exhaust crossover - not a water port. You can just leave it.

Re: edelbrock intake help???
The center ports are an exhaust heat crossover for the choke and or egr.

Re: edelbrock intake help???
It's a trade off.. block it off and it takes longer to warm your truck up .. leave it open and you give up a small amount of top end power.

Re: edelbrock intake help???
Hmmm. I was told it was a water port to warm the carb, but exhaust makes more sense.
Thanks a million my chevy brothers!! |
Re: edelbrock intake help???
It's an exhaust port. I have the 2101 as well on my 307 with a 1405 sittin on top. The blocks SHOULD be the same and I was told by my uncle (master mechanic on these pickups for 25 years) to leave it off.
