Calling All Lowered Stepside!!!! Help

I am about to convert my 70 stepside from leafs to trailing arms. During the process I plan to lower it. I have 3 inch springs for the front and I need to know what you guys are running in the back for springs... Pictures and spring combo would be nice! I need to order some rear springs....:mm:

Re: Calling All Lowered Stepside!!!! Help

Some use 3 in the front and 5 in the rear. But they might also suggest an adjustable bar to keep it tracking straight.

Re: Calling All Lowered Stepside!!!! Help

i agree 3/5 would look good, but if you go 5 you will need shock relocators, and a ajdustable bar.
i think see ten has a 3.5/5 drop,it may be more than that but it looks awsome:metal:

here is a 4/6 drop and I agree that you need a few "extras" for this combo to work well as Clemson stated.

2" springs front
5" springs rear
I did not have to use shock relocators or an adjustable track bar.
she tracks and ride quite well.

72BLUZ, I am a Georgia born and raised. Your truck is screaming "Georgia on My Mind" being raised in Georgia is one of the main motivations for my build. I am using your truck as my desktop theme... I did order everything from Early Classics yesterday and it will arrive today according to their automated UPS message. Now I just have to break down my donor truck and the parts off of it to clean, paint and restore the rubber. I also plan to box my trailing arms...

I was born in Albany and my father retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service in Warner Robins GA which I currently call home. I have one more year and I will retire after 20 years of service in the Air Force. I plan to stay in California for another couple of years. I just bought a home here but my family has land near my parents new home which I plan to build my final home on. I cannot wait to move home for good. The older I get the more I long for being in Georgia.

Trey, 5150 -

Did either of you notch your frame for the 6" springs? I've heard you should, but I've also heard others say you don't need to. Just curious what each of you did.

Re: Calling All Lowered Stepside!!!! Help

I did not use a C-Notch and I don't have any problems whatsoever with it hitting anything. As you can imagine I don't carry a lot of stuff in the back that is heavy but the stuff I have carried I haven't had a problem with.

Re: Calling All Lowered Stepside!!!! Help

I didn't noch mine either but I have not driven it much yet, been waiting to put new rear brake lines on it. I can measure from the frame to the axle for you if you would like to know how much clearance there is.
