What's this worth?

I have always wanted a short bed 4x4. The 67-72 was alway my favorite. A friend of mine from work told me about this 70 blazer. Naturally I wanted to see it and lucky for me it's income tax time. Needless to say, I'm shocked, this truck is loaded. The VIN, off the globe box is CKE182F169632. It has a/c and front disc. brakes. I'm sure its a 72, with an incorrect grill. The tag off the drivers door piller was removed. The rockers and partical floors are gone. Some work has been done on passanger side to rocker and floor. There is rust around rear wheel weels and bed floor. I just took pics. today, Sat. I would like to know what you would offer, cash, if you where trying to buy this CST? I had 15 $100.00, but the owner wasn't there.......what whould you do?

From what I see, I would say keep at least 10 of those $100's in your pocket and start talking. I wouldn't pull out too many more than 5. Looks like a whole lot of work.

I agree. Unless they go for a whole lot in your part of the country, that one is pretty rough for $1500.

Looks like you should start low. It looks like a $500 - $800 truck max - mostly because you could part it out and recoup the costs. There's a lot of work there. Generally, consider there to be double the amount of rust from what you see and the missing vin tag could be a huge issue.

Numbers matching would be my main concern, anything can be fixed.....for a price, just make sure it's legal. J.

The pics aren't great, but it appears to have original buckets, single wall top, tilt and tach. That's at least $1,000 in parts.
As rough as the body looks from the one picture you posted, I wouldn't buy it for more than a parts truck.

Re: What's this worth?

I'd offer $350.00 and maybe pay $500.00 but no higher.

The truck pictured will take a ton of cash to get back on the road.

One other note, blazers never had partical floors.

Does it run?

Re: What's this worth?

Well not having the vin tag means you'd have trouble with the state. As far as it for parts, tach is worth $200, tilt is worth $225, buckets if original $250 or so, single wall top if good $250. Rolling frame, transfer and tranny $300 or so. Blazer also have alot of other valuable parts on them. So as you can see its worth more in parts, and as was said above the body looks to be way to far gone to fix up.

I'm kinda shocked by the responce. I was thinking that this was a CST worth saving. Didn't think this was a parts truck. Maybe I can buy this one for salvage. I'll keep you all posted if I have parts for sale.

Re: What's this worth?

The response is largely based on the condition of the body. All those parts that make you think it's desireable, can be added on to any Blazer in a matter of hours for a reasonable amouont of cash. The body is a whole different story. It will take a LOT of time and money to get the body into shape.

:agree: money ahead finding a better body to begin with.

That one however is a great find for a parts truck. (for the right price)
If you do intend to get into these old trucks, having that one in the background for a build would be a real bonus.

Re: What's this worth?

I would just walk away, unless you can score it for $500 or less. At that point I
would strip of the good parts, sell the rest, and use the goods on another one.
