air bags
been to the suspension group,
1972 3/4 Suburban I've sat at the computer far to long today, I'm looking for bags for the rear only, is there a kit out there? I would prefer helper bags but I think I have to substitute the coils with bags. Helper bags for inside the coils are not available for the 72 coil due to the pig tails. anyone have any ideas? thx, Al. |

I have an Early Classic airbag setup on the rear of my sub. I'm happy with it, but would also like to add a rear swaybar.

Are the suburbans using trailing arms? If so, you could do this real cheap with just bags and schrader valves if you want the Ron Popeil it. (set it and forget it)

My burb has trailing arms. It's a GMC, too - with no mention of the coil rear on the SPID. I always thought it was optional to have coils on a GMC and leafs on a Chevy and that it would be on the SPID. For my bag setup, I did exactly that -- used 2 schrader valves for several reasons:
1 to eliminate transfer from bag to bag while cornering 2 have some pressure if one side developed a leak 3 save money 4 keep it simple. I only use the bags to adjust ride height while hauling things, not to show off between traffic lights.:lol: |

It's a pretty easy install. You have to enlarge the coilspring cup hole in the frame and and I'd say the most difficult part is getting the angle fittings on the top of the bags because they're inside the rails and behind some brackets. The kit is the same for 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. I'll take some pics and post them for you guys this weekend.

Here are a couple of pics. I'm sure Early Classic has some better pics on their site. I think they have a build of a 3/4 ton sub on there. I ran the Schrader valves through the license plate holes. The kit comes with one and a tee, just request another if you want to do it this way.
