Sat pics (2-23) hopefully improved!

I spotted a couple new places to shoot today and broke the camera out for you guys. I'm really looking forward to the show and cruise in season starting again so I'll have more opportunities to get out and about. I guess for now I'll just keep doing the best I can to find something close to home for keeping us entertained.

Great pics as usual. I love that dash shot. The key is one and ready to go!! The reflection shots are awesome as well.

Can I make a humble suggestion for your truck?

Those Panoramic pics are the best. What type of camera are you using. I've been thinking about upgrading to a digital 35mm type SLR.

"Ford" Bros Chevrolet?

Now that's funny. I don't care who you are.

Beautiful truck. Those pics would be awesome in black and white with all those old brick buildings around.

I'm always open for suggestions and I promise you that I'm far from being "mighty". Although sometimes I do get mighty hungry! The panoramic shots were made with a Kodak Easyshare Z712IS. It's a point and shoot camera with some extra features and settings. It does pretty good til the light starts getting low. I'm sure there is a setting that would make it work better under those conditions but I haven't figured it out yet.

I don't know if anyone noticed but I took the reflection shots and rotated them 180* so that they would be right side up. After that I flipped them so that the letters on them would be legible instead of a mirror image.

I've also already tinted some of these to black and white as well as some sepia tones as well. I think they turned out pretty good and I'll post them later today. It's kinda become my standard to post the tints on Sunday afternoon. Kinda my own shameless TTT for when I start slipping back to the 2nd page.

Well, if that's the case, IMHO that trucks needs a set of deluxe side markers in the worst way. Not white ones, they look like butt IMO, but regular amber and red deluxe markers with the stainless trim. It looks naked with std ones on there!!;) Otherwise, I would not change a single thing!

Great pic as always, but just a question for seeten what rim are you running and what do you have behind them is it just a dust sheild or something

Use a higher ISO, with a longer shutter speed for low light. But, have a tripod handy. Or, just use a lower ISO, but very long shutter speed. Clearer image then with a high ISO. But a tripod is absolutly nessacary.

Love the reflection ones though, very creative :)

One suggestion, is turn the wheels so that you see rims, not tires:
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...n/100_2140.jpg
I'd rather see them purty rims then those treads. ;)

Re: Sat pics (2-23) hopefully improved!

Thanks guys! I had intended to come back and update this yesterday but a stomach bug took me out for the count! I was constantly in transit from the bed to the bathroom from about 10 yesterday morning til about 8:30 this morning. I feel like I've been beat up and hung out to dry!

Anywho, I've thought about running the deluxe markers but........I don't know. It just hasn't happened.

The wheels are Wheel Vintiques Billet Cruzers. Production was stopped on them for a while and when they brought them back the name had changed and the price had doubled on them. The wheel plates are from Air Ride Technologies. They're pretty heavy gauge and seem to do the job, so yeah, they're pretty much a dustcover.

I've tried slowing the shutter speed down but even when I use a tripod the pics just seem to have a lot of noise and look grainy. I'm still playing with it and I'm sure I'll get it figured out.

Yep, The pics would probably look better with the rim showing than the tread but I was shooting several shots in between moving the truck and I just didn't take the time to go over and turn the wheel.

I'm always up for constructive criticism fellas! This is a hobby for me and I'm more than ready to listen to other peoples ideas for improvements.

OK......I think I answered all the questions  so lets move on with the tints I promised for yesterday.

Using a higher ISO will give him some grainyness. I'm sure he doesn't want that. See Ten, keep your ISO as low as possible and using a tripod with a long shutter speed should net you good results. Can you adjust the aperture on that camera you got there?

Re: Sat pics (2-23) hopefully improved!

It does have an aperture priority setting but I've never used it. On my other camera I just put er on a tripod and slow down the shutter and it works just fine. This one doesn't work out that well using that method. It does have several different "screen settings" on it. I tried using one that was designed for shooting distant scenery at night and got the best results out of it thus far.

Higher ISO helps when you don't have a tripod, and you can use a faster shutter speed. My description may have gotten muddy.

See-Ten: I would suggest one of the BEST ever programs for image noise, it's called Neat Image, and it's free. I'll post a pic where you can see how big of a difference it makes. It's great for cleaning up shots where a camera messed up with the ISO.

Or play with full manual mode, and lower the ISO and use a longer shutter speed manually until you have one that looks good. Ah the grace a digital camera can give you as opposed to film. :ito:

I really dig that last one too. :metal:

edit: had to mess with them some, lol:

This is an example of neat image, just a light use to clean it up a bit. But it can do some heavy fixing too:
