steering column anti-theft locks/jackets
I know that all types of anti-theft devices can be defeated, except for ravelco, but how well do these work? I have one that covers the whole left side where the signal light switch is, but it doesn't cover the area from the ignition key switch to the hazard lights. Do I need to weld a piece of plate in between the ignition and hazard switch too? I have never known the mechanics of breaking the column and starting it up.

Re: steering column anti-theft locks/jackets
I just finished fixing a popped column. The favorite way is on the left side. They break the housing and then the rack, slide the entire rack down to unlock the steering wheel lock, and start the truck, then jerk the shifter to spring the lock there. If you can protect the shifter lock, and the left side of the column, It should stop the problem. The only other way I know of is to remove the tumbler assembly and turn the shaft the keys turn.
