Roll pan exhaust options
I just got rid of the step bumper that was on my swb '80 and replaced it with a roll pan from Goodmark and I love the way it looks but im worried about the exhaust now. When I was thinking of running a sport bumper I was just going to run duals out the back with tips that ended right past the bottom of the bumper. Now that Ive got a roll pan im worried that setup wouldnt look right.
Can anyone with a roll pan post up some pics of your exhaust or give me some suggestions? Thanks Kris |
Re: Roll pan exhaust options
I agree that a full exhaust just wouldnt look right with a roll pan.
IMO, dump the exhaust just in front of the rear axle. Unless you want to show your exhaust. |
Re: Roll pan exhaust options
I would personally tuck up the rear pipes and go with turndowns that end just before the roll pan. I prefer full-length pipes, though.

Re: Roll pan exhaust options
I have dual exhaust tips under my roll pan on my 84. The tips are MEGS oval tips and they look pretty good under the truck pan. I am running the same tipson my 91 Silverado and the tips are run up into the roll pan in a Corvette notch look.

heres my step side with a roll pan. The pic with no tailgate & the pic with the tailgate with solid stripes ,you can see my 2.5" Corvette tips from stainless works.
The pic with the flamed stripes is the newest pic, I now have 3" all the way back with the tail pipes angles down & end just short of the roll pan, with no tips, just big 3" pipes. Im not sure if you can see em well in the pic or not. It looks tough from behind. John |

Here's a pic of my Chevelle. Yes, it's very rusty.

Re: Roll pan exhaust options
Gerardo, does yours tuck up next to the frame over the axles? Basically, if you were to flip kit/bag the rear, would you have to do something about the pipes going over the axle?
