Hood to front fender alignment issue

I picked up a 2" cowl hood for my 79 stepside and bolted it on today taking my time to make sure it closed properly but im having a hard time with the alignment with the fenders. The hood seems to sit about 3/4 of an inch above the top of the fenders on both sides but sits flush at the front of the hood. Anyone help me out here on this one please? :-)

if you loosen the hinges on the fenders that should allow adjustment to the rear of the hood down towards the cowl
