It looks like
I kinda like it, I did notice a small bracket on each side, must be for turn signals?
Ya the surface rust across the hood is where the PO had a wind guard on.
Ok now that your looking how do I get my hood down level with the fender?

I really like the older style tube grills, yours looks great. I looked for one for my old burb but couldn't find the style like you have, nice find. If you ever run across anymore of those for sale anywhere shoot me a PM.

I have found 2 of them this year. I paid 35 plus ship out of Portland for this one. I'll keep a look out.

Mine does that too, i just push on it, but that only lasts until you hit a big bump or open the hood, plus then the springs don't want to lift it as well, idk why, but idk how to fix it

Very nice looking truck! Don't know why but the PO painted around the headlights on mine.
Are your turn signals behind the grill? I also like the look without the turn signals in the bumber. I suppose a guy could mount the signals on the core support that way there hidden yet can be seen when in use.

The problem with your hood is the springs are weak, and the hinges may be tweaked. At least you should replace the springs.

Re: Installed older tube grill, just to see what....

Hey Aventur1 just saw your post... my headlight buckets were originally painted black too. I used a little gasket remover (in a rattle can) on em and the pain wiped right off. Looks 10 times better with the crome instead of the black. Oh and yes the parklights are behind the grill, the po had the early model bumper on it and the lights were just drilled into the top inside of the grill shell. I made some cheesy little sheetmetal brackets to mount them in the bottom behind the grill, more of a lo-profile look. They look pretty sic at night, and personally I like the smooth front end look with the bumper and old skool tube grill... I'll try and get some pics up.

Ya I'd like to see some pics at night of your park lights and maybe how you mounted them. I suppose I'll have to start looking for a bumber with no park lights.

Thanks Army, did you locate a 373 rear end for SV? I'm looking also for SV, he's helped me before on a few items. I've seen them around this area before.

Wow, that looks really cool, what type of turn signals did you use? Looks like there reflecting into the headlight rings or do you have extra lights in the headlight cup area? With those extra lights in the center I bet you can see a long ways down a dark road!!

Ya I've seen those grills, I suppose the old style that are bigger tubes and less of them is what effect I was looking for, you know the ones you use to see years ago on these type trucks. I've located a couple this year, there getting harder to find.

Yeah I see the difference in the one that you like, I could have sworn last summer that LMC had the exact same grill but as I looked on their webpage I could not seem to find it. I do like the looks of that grill. I wish I had a pic of my grill but my truck is in storage right now just waiting for the snow and salt to disappear!!

Re: Installed older tube grill, just to see what....

Yeah the headlights are awesome I just got them a couple a weeks ago... I get a killer discount down at a local parts shop so I got the whole setup with the H4 bulbs that are brighter than s!@#, especially with my PIAA driving lights wired in with the high beam and they look real cool. Kinda got a purpley blue color to them. They have the aux. 194 bulb mounted in the bottom of the housing and I have a couple of different colors that I can run. They come stock with just clear, but I put some amber ones in and love the look. They turn on with my parklights and work with the blinkers too. It's really amazing how much of a difference the headlights make, I love being able to see!
