truck mirrors

I wanted to replace my truck mirrors due to rust and damage. I bought some from LMC truck, but the mirror heads are too small and the mirrors shake while driving. I need to find nice mirror heads that are larger...like the ones in the pic.....about 10" high x 7" wide. I am finding difficulty locating this size mirror. I need to keep the low tripod mount as to avoid having to make any new holes or fill the old ones. Any suggestions?

I went through the same process a few years ago. The best big mirrors I found were for late 80's and early 90's Fords. I decided I didn't like the look and put factory mirrors back on when I repainted the 72.
Sorry, I don't have any pics.

Go with the factory mirrors---sure, they are small--just drive faster than everyone else!

Most autoparts stores around here sell them. I got a set from X-mas a couple years ago, and one of them fall apart going down the road, so make sure you get decent ones.

I bought a set of stainless steel mirrors off a 1 ton Ford cab & chassis at a local junkyard for $25.00. They are very well made and I can actually see out of them!! They are just like the mirrors pictured, except the support doesn't bolt to the back of the mirror; rather it go's directly into the side of the mirror housing and is sealed with a rubber grommet. The Ford was a late 80's model.

I would suggest a big rig supply, as wibilly mentioned. Lots of choices!

thanks for the responses. I did find replacement mirrors i was looking for at the local auto zone. Had to go with a little bigger tripod mount but they look really nice. Back on the road.

Napa sells all that stuff,OEM-style.I`ve bought the arms that connect the head with the tri-pod.The non-stainless pieces. In the`80s the mirror heads and arms became integrated.
