My build 63 short fleet
Well I tried to sell all the 63 stuff and no one wanted the package so I started on it this weekend. It will have a 350/350 combo, p/s,p/b. 2 1/2 spidels and 1" springs on front and 3" springs in back. It will be 5 lug from a 72 donor truck. Here's some pics so far.
The way the p/o had it with no springs. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2.../DSCN08381.jpg Has a pretty good tailgate. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...3%20c10/tg.jpg Int http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...%20c10/int.jpg |

Re: My build 63 short fleet
Paint is staying the same. It's going to have some 5 lug truck rallies for now but future plans are for some wide whites.

Re: My build 63 short fleet
Made some progress today. I got the column mocked up.
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...0c10/wheel.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...c10/column.jpg Drop spindles, coils and brakes installed. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...c10/rotors.jpg I can't wait to get the motor in. It sits way to high without it. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...0/newfront.jpg |
Re: My build 63 short fleet
cool truck. Your first pic made me do a double take, looks almost identical to my 62. Same color primer and wheels. I`m looking forard to seeing what you do with it.

Re: My build 63 short fleet
Got some more work done today.
Got the idler arm holes drilled so I could bolt it on. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...0c10/idler.jpg Got the swaybay installed. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...3%20c10/sb.jpg Got the rearend out. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...20c10/norr.jpg New one in. I used 3" springs. I think I might go with 5" springs or a 2" block. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...0c10/newrr.jpg |
Re: My build 63 short fleet
Also got the seat mocked up.

Re: My build 63 short fleet
I have that same seat I plan on using. Are you having to fab up some brakets to get it to work.Or are you just drilling some holes, and bolting it down. When I do mine I want to switch the smaller side to the drivers side.

Re: My build 63 short fleet
hey that looks just like the back seat in my '95 burb?? looks like it fits nice, huh?
I am glad to see you working on this, I sure wanted it when you were selling, but Cali. is a bit far from me! keep up the good work and keep us informed, with pics! |
Re: My build 63 short fleet
It's the middle seat out of a 99 Sub. I am going to fab some shorter mounts for it and it will be functional. The only problem I see with putting the short seat on the drivers side is you loose the armrest function and you'll have a headrest in the middle.

Re: My build 63 short fleet
I scored it awhile ago from a friend of mine who wrecked his sub.

Re: My build 63 short fleet
Cool to see this truck going together......I remember it when it first got it home. Looks like a very solid truck.....good score. Keep plugging away and get it on the road!!!!!

Re: My build 63 short fleet
Hey man, is that a van column? looks nice in there!!!
|
Re: My build 63 short fleet
No it's out of a 72 truck.
|
Re: My build 63 short fleet
oh cool! the newer wheel fit no problem?
|
Re: My build 63 short fleet
The splines are the same from the early 60's to the mid 90's if I remember right. So you have a wide choice in wheels.

Re: My build 63 short fleet
I got the motor mocked up so I can measure for a driveline.
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...0c10/motor.jpg Here's how it sits with the motor in. I would like it to sit a couple inches lower front and rear. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...20c10/side.jpg |
