Dual port or single?
 

Sorry if I'm posting a lot of stupid questions over here, but I'm trying to find out as much as possible before I start buying stuff for my air ride settup. So here is todays air ride rookie question: Whats the difference between single port and dual port bags? What are the cons and pros of each?

IMHO dual port begs are just for very extrem set ups. One 1/2" port is more than enough. Most guys here slow a complete 1/2" set up down because it is two fast to handle it. Personally I have one port bags with 3/8" lines and valves and this is fast enough. Another point is that you have to make sure you have the right amount and pressure of air. It is a big different between 135psi and 175psi or higher.

There are other reasons to use dual port bags. Two come to mind. One is that if you wanted to install a schrader valve at each corner, you could easily do so by using the extra port. You could also have greater flexibility with your valve setup. You could for example plumb your dump valve off the second port. Why, i don't know, but it goes to show that a dual port bag has other uses.

Both these guys are making excelent points, but to answer the question you haven't asked: get single port bags. much easier to plumb, and way more practical. I have 1/2" line with 1/2" fill valves and it's way too fast. even the 3/8 dumps it's like a free fall when it lays out.

The points jlaird stated maybe correct but I personally think two ports are realy not necessary. More ports mean more line to route and a higher risk of leaks. I use a air lift digital air management system where I can any leak and where it is also the actual pressure. I would recommend one port bags for a normal set up, everything else is too much in my opinion. But don't get me wrong this is just my opinion and I know you guys have a lot of experience.
