$10 junkyard find

Picked up the trim that goes around the back of the cab (not the one in the picture) from the local junkyard for $10 both the corner pieces and the center piece. The paint on the corner pieces is a bit faded and its covered in dust and dirt but ill put up some pictures when Ive cleaned it.

I see a new set of this trim costs a couple hundred dollars.

I repainted my fender emblems with paint I found at the hobby store. Had to paint them because no one makes them aftermarket.

No I didnt get the clips. I thought I would put them on my truck and just use those clips but since I know how to get them off now I think ill reuse the ones on my truck and sell this set so I can buy other things for my truck.

This is how I removed it at the junkyard. The one corner piece was already loose and I just pulled it off, then I just pulled (or pushed on the other end) and the center piece just slid off. The other corner piece we carefully pried back a litte with flat head screw driver and turned the clip until we could get the corner off.

If you look in there online catalog they have all three pieces. There expensive though. Over $100 for each piece.

You almost never see these pieces without a ding or two. Nice find!

They've got a couple dings but I hope I can fix those.

Heres a corner piece.

Is there a way to get those scratches and blemishes out? Could I use some really fine sand paper to take them out or something?
