how do you feel?

This site is like a breath of fresh air! With all that has happened at CT and with all of us coming over here...it feels soo good!

Think about this...

There are prolly 25 or more of us who have come over here in the last week, all for one reason...to stand by each other and to show each other how important our online friendships are. We are a band of brothers, and I think we will all be together and helping each other out for a long time to come.

Visiting CT just isn't the same for me anymore, thank goodness I have my friends and a new and better 73-87 site to visit.

Enough of the sappi-ness for now. :D

Ok good, since you've already said it I wont be called a vimmpy-man for agreeing :D

Hey Guys,

Well I'm one of the poor saps that has no idea what happened at CT. I just logged in on Friday to see what was going on and WHAM - it seems all heck has broken loose. All I know, it seems to be something between our beloved Mike and Tony. It seems no one wants to talk about it anymore, so I'll just stay in the dark, I guess.

Oh well, this certainly seems like a pretty good place too. So let's keep truckin'.:bowtie:

87gmc 11-02-2002 09:53 PM

yeah i feel the exact same way although i havent been around near as long as dave, mike, tom and the others. I feel like we are all there for each other whether its about trucks or just plain old venting about life. I am so glad that i found CT and now this site. You are all a bunch of great guys.

70sChevys 11-02-2002 11:09 PM

I missed all the fallout as well...we'll never know cause no one wants to slam anyone else. That's probably for the best. I do know that the sites with the least tolerance for anything off topic usually have the most problems.

I left the G-body and Monte Carlo list for the same reasons....too many chiefs and not enough braves. I have always enjoyed the more closely knit forums and lists that put up with people the way they are and not as some think they should be. I haven't had any bad experiences with CT, but by the same token, I enjoy this site much more as it is more relaxed and everyone seems to get along just fine.

swervin ervin 11-02-2002 11:24 PM

Jeff,

you are correct. This site is a breath of fresh air. I see right now this is going to be a great place to hang out with all my friends. I look forward to many great times.

You guys are the best.

This place sorta feels like a new beginning. Well it is. :D

Its like i'm getting to know everybody all over again. Its sorta like how it was my first days on CT.

I'm still on CT, but for all my buds, I gotta come here. And help out where I can.

You guys dont really want to know what we went through with Tony that night. Besides it just needed to be letin go of. A few of us were just mad at Tony for doing things the way he did. Things were said punches were thrown and everyone involved in that post came out lookin a little bad. But its over now.

ocbaud 11-03-2002 02:01 AM

it doesnt really matter where i am posting at, i really dont care about a name, because that is all it is, a name.

chevytalk isnt a place, its a name, we are what made it up, so if everyone leaves, that place is gone, and we go to a new place, but its the exact same since we are all here and still together.

likes its been said, we are like a family, and we all stick together

79BIG10 11-03-2002 02:10 AM

Eric is exactly right. It's not the same place but still the same people which makes it so great.

Well, I've seen bits and pieces of the subject and the reason for Mike's move (and the subsequent following) but what I would like to see is the details. Don't get me wrong, I'll go wherever the guys and the information are but I'd like to know exactly what happened. Sounds like part of the problem was people making money off of the site but I'm not sure. Most forums I have been involved with (most non-truck related) started out as free and, once they got a member base, they started charging for services.

mike reeh 11-03-2002 12:57 PM

yeah a name is just a name but i cant help feeling a LITTLE awkward posting on a 67-72 site  guess Ill get used to it :flag:

I think we ought to leave it the way it is, some of us over here and some of us are on both. i love and always will both sites, as you can see im not totally new to this site, it has just been slow. i am very excited that it is getting the exposure it deserves. BUT , and you know there is always a but. I also love CHEVYTALK, and will continue to visit and post and reply there. i would hope that what has affected a few dosnt affect everyone. as they (who were envolved) said that was something they were in disageement with, it didnt envolve me so it was non of my business. i still love to talk with yall no matter what site it is on. THERE IS TO MUCH KNOWLEDGE FOR EVEYONE TO JUST SEPERATE FROM OTHERS

I'm another guy kinda in the dark about what happened at CT, but folks have done what they had to do and were all talking trucks again. Like most I still visit CT, but this is now my first stop.
Besides, not only is swervin posting here, but there are some really cool smilies. :bowtie: :canada:, and the same friendly faces!

I'm with you Tom. If Tim comes over here, he would drive me nuts before long. I think I would go somewhere else.

I'm pretty sure he is. I don't think they'd stand for his mouth in the Army. I bet he's a changed boy. :D
