Just bought a 82 2wd Blazer: Few Questions

I have noticed this before on the 4x4s and just noticed it on my 2wd, but why is the front track width wider than the back? How can I fix that to look right. I was thinking of just getting my rear rallies widened on the outer side since a beauty ring will cover it anyway (Is that what people sell as 10" rallies?). And on my mustang all you have to do is an axle swap to widen trackwidth. But don't think this applies here. What have you guys done about it?

Also, why is the turning radius so much better in the Blazer than in my truck? I know it is a shorter wheel base, but I wouldn't have thought it would make that huge of a difference. There has to be some other differences. I mean it is alot different than my swb truck.

Thanks

I never noticed a track width difference on the 2wd's?
As I understand it, on the 4x4's it is different to help with traction; the front wheels and the back wheels are in different tracks. I never really understood why though?

You can have your wheels widened but I think it might be easier to just buy them already done. I think Stockton Wheel or Wheel Vintique (SP?) have 10" rims as a stocked item.

The Blazer should turn better than the truck, even a swb. If there is a HUGE difference you might have a problem on the truck that you just didn't realize until now?
I just bought an '87 crewcab. When I went to pick it up from some service work the owner told me the pitman arm was on backwards. I had noticed the wheel was pretty far off but didn't really care as I am going to put 1/2 ton suspension under it. He found it hard to believe that I didn't notice it only turned about 3/4 of the way in one direction? Its a crewcab, it's supposed to have a bad turning radius...

I don't know man, every chevy truck I have ever driven--this body style and the next--the turning radius just sucked. The blazer's is awesome. I would compare it to the wrangler I used to own.

O'riellys shows the powersteering unit to be the same part number just so you know, so I guess it's all in the wheelbase.

No, the front has a good bit sharper turning radius on IFS and SFA. I have a '97 2 door 4wd Tahoe and can park that sucker anywhere, it's amazing.

Front is wider on my '77 4wd, probably has something to do with inner fender or frame clearance with the sharper turning radius. I'm going to use spacers on the rear to get 'em the same and add some brush guards to keep 'em from slinging crap all over everything.
