refinishing chrome trim question?

someone on here said there is an anodized coating on the chrome trim. I would like to re-paint and then polish the upper and put new wood grain decals on the lower. Anybody have any ideas on a good way to re-finish upper and lower chrome?

Thanks

It isnt chrome, it is however anodized aluminum. I took my tailgate aplique panel, had it chromed and then used woodgrain tape and black vinyl tape to redo it. It looks nice, but this isnt a cheap way to go. You could scotch brite your trim and then re-tape it or paint it. This wont leave you a protected anodized finish, but it will look good. Its also cheaper than buying new.
