Griffith Energy Services

When they wanted to tripple my budget plan from $155 to $450 a month I told them I couldn't possibly pay that.

They agreed to stop shipments of heating oil and let me pay it down. A year later they changed their mind and demanded the ballance in full. When I told them I don't *have* $1800 they sent it to collections.

Legal? Yes. Within their rights? Yes. Honest? No.

Nice to know that in the face of a looming crisis some organizations are never too busy to take advantage.

Legal? Yes.

What form did the agreement take? Document?

Verbal .... therein lies the honesty issue. Gave them the *legal* option to pretend it never happened.

That's unethical. Sorry, man :( Have you tried to talking to their very senior management?

Naw.. it's pretty much a donne deal. They are sending it to collections so I'll make my payments to the collection agency instead and take the credit hit.

It's unethical but it's perfectly legal so now that I have expressed my angst; I'll just deal with it.
