Well I know what my first body project is going to be...

I picked up a Miller 175 so now the work can begin. I don't want to jump right in to floors and rockers so i'm gonna start with something less critical. I'm gonna pick up the patch panel from GMC Pauls for the area under the battery box on the front of the passenger fender. Mine looks solid but is actually just bondoed up so it'll be replaced soon. I just need to get Critter over to my house to put in a 220 plug in my garage since he's an electrician and all.

You can see the discoloration of the lower body where they bondoed and half ass painted it.

I probably have my work cut out for me by the time it's all said and done cuz I even found some bondo on one of the bedsides so who knows what's under that.

Well no prizes to give out yet. I did sand a few areas down and found mostly dents but some rust too. So I guess i've got it all. I also assumed my welder had .030 wire but it's actually .023 which I guess is better for body work. Now I just need to do the work.

Yes sir but thank you anyways, i'm sure someone will read it and go "OH!!!". For my fender project I do plan on having the fender off so it won't be an issue.

Are you using gas? If not ya might wanna take a look at doing so. Makes a much cleaner weld. Yes the .23 is much better for thin stuff. I used what I had left of the .30 on the floor pans but .23 would've been easier to use. On the 220 your having put in, see if ya can't have it set up about 25 or so feet of wire so ya can reach out in your driveway. Makes it handy.

Yes i'm using gas. I'm gonna make an extra cord that's longer for when I need to drag it around but just leave it next to the outlet and make a small table with a vise mounted for doing small welding projects.

So when are you going to bring it by my place for a test run? :jest:

J/K We will get you fixed up with an outlet in a day or two. I can't wait to tear into yours and see what all we can screw up...I mean "fix"
