And my new stereo - brand new 8-track!! :)

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/CIMG4285.jpg

Please check out the 64 I have listed in the for sale trucks section, its only a grand. This project takes too mmuch of my time, and though I had originally planned that one for my son, this one will be his when he turns 16 in two years...

I have listed a few parts from this one in the for sale parts section too.

I have a lot to still do, but getting there... when replacing the sill I found some more cancer, and the two fron fenders will need replacing prob too. But over all in pretty good shape!! I am doing the interior next prob, which will include moving the gas tank to the rear. But I have to take a bit of a break for a while... hehe

Some of the stuff I have done...

4 wheel disc., ford nine inch rear end (i do need to change gears, currently 2.93 want more like 3.20)
2.5 inch drop spindles in front 5 inch drop in rear (springs).
Completely rewired
digital dash
adding my stereo
power steering new
350 4 bolt main, T350 trans engine painted and cleaned up... etc.
Nardi steering wheel
Ididit steering column
Torquelite wheels and new tires... lol (Thanks 62 Short step!)

to come over next two years (or sooner):

Air conditioning
Interior
fuel tank
replace some more cancer
paint rechroming and new bumpers
new wood bed

DaddyMack-
Your truck is looking great.
Do you have any more detailed, in-process pics of your rocker replacement?
What welder did you use (or did you have it done)?
I've seen some good how-to's but I'm getting ready to tackle this project soon.

Thank you!

I suck at welding and only do it when it doesn't matter what it looks like from my little hobby stick welder (which has served me well :) ) But this was done for me. I am guesing wire feed TIG ? done extremely well. The rockers I got from Tuckers and the guy that did it for me said they went in pretty easily.

Now get me with my plasma cutter... different story.. I love to use that..lol..

Very cool! I'm digging that paint scheme! You may be changing it, but it fits the truck!

Yea... I have a ton of people that want me to bomb it black... but I like the colors and the scheme as well. Just going to be redone...flat and then sprayed with a flat clear to make it clean up easy... BUT that is the last thing I will do to the truck, its fine like it is now... ;)

I like the idea of the colored primers for the paint, so that's prob going to be it when it happens.

Good job... And about your other truck. Some can't veiw it in the for sale section. Dose this hurt you or me. I would say you paid but not all can see your ad about the truck for sale.

New updates!

As some of you know I moved the tank out of the cab, removed the in cab supports and a few other things... But I saw some frame ups and decided I wanted to have a daily driver that would last ... so....I started tearing it down..

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/IMG_0331.jpg

Top of cab is bad enough that I am cutting it completely off and replacing with one that has no rust...

other parts came out looking great...better than expected... and bed gets new rails..

Re: Old Blue eyeS updates with pics!

I have some cool goodies I am doing....

It's getting Air Conditioning with electronic controls..
Rear bumber with hidden hitch behind the license plate
hidden tailgate release... just to name a few..

NO I am not bagging it.. I like the regular springs.
Not sure about interior yet...

Frame and axle will be painted dark blue.
Body will be the same colors, powder (or bulldog) blue and white, which just happen to be my son's school colors.. since this will be his truck when he turns 16 a year from August.

The outside will not be shiny, it will be the dull primered look.

Interior colors will be same as outside.

That's about it for now... waiting on some parts but I will update again, hopefully just before painting..

Steven

Nice work D/M!!! Its weird how the whole truck is solid and roof is bad??? It'll be really nice when its all back together...how about the engine/tranny? New or different?

What are the specs on your wheels and tires ?

DaddyMack 06-01-2009 12:40 AM

Re: Old Blue eyeS updates with pics!

Thanks everyone! Yea it is wierd that it was so bad on the roof... whoever had it before did some poor fill jobs but oh well easier to cut away the entire tope rather than fix it.

madaca and Tx - 255/45-18 all the way around without touching a thing (well inside rear wells are pinched at the top)... The tires are rated for 180 mph..lol.. but they were the most reasonable I could find... 18" is the odd duck in wheels and tires it seems.

American Racing Torqlite wheels. I don't remember if they are 18 x 7 or 8... I think 7...Tucker's parts is local here and a guy that works there is extremely knowledgable and gave me the backspacing.. think it was 4.5 inches. He was right on. Identical tires/wheels all the way around, easier to rotate.

I am keeping the engine/tranny... 700r4 is tempting... maybe after i get done with this stuff.. with the gearing I have in the truck the 350 tranny is fine... the engine is nothing special.. exhaust, electronic ignition and eldebrock manifold.. maybe 300 horses..so tranny is more than enough... but as long is it runs and runs and runs... my 350 in my 1980 boat i restored is original, prob a bit more than the 260 rated horses due to newer style exhaust and it has almost 1300 original hours... and is still strong.. I am good with that..lol..

I also have a little surprise for the exhaust exit... lets just say.. I like racing.. lol..
