Where should I buy my 67-72 parts from?
 

hi, I have been looking at the rants and such on the site and see that LMC (where i was going to be buying around $2K worth of parts from:waah:) has a pretty bad review by most of the members, so my question is where should i buy the parts from? Brothers? they just dont seem to have as much stuff as LMC...where do YOU buy parts from? what would be the cheapest route?

I would spread it around. don't give one vendor all your business until you figured out for yourself which one treats you right. As far as board vendors go I pretty much narrowed it down to Wes at classic heartbeat. Especially if I need to ask some questions first.
Non board vendors truckandcar shop, and classic parts of America.
especially pay attention to the reviews on here about bad communication with some vendors. That is the most important thing to me "communication".

I need to edit this to say Classic Parts of America "IS" a board vendor. I had forgotten that

I fully agree with Olden Days. There are lots of vendors to choose from so you don't really have to tolerate poor service. I shop around when in need of something, but don't always go for the lowest price. Quality and shipping play a part too. Do like Olden Days suggested and check out the reviews and rants.:ito:

Yup. And Classic Heartbeat, and for non-board vendors, I prefer Classic Parts of America pretty much.

I shop with Classic Heartbeat and Pickmup (Frank)...both great guys and know their trucks.
They are both local to me so I love to keep my $ close to home.

I have delt with GMCPauls who also specializes in our trucks and has great customer service.
There are many more great board member vendors HERE--scroll down.

I can say the same for Manes Truck Parts...they know their stuff and are
on top of problems before even you know about them! Top notch service!!!

For engine parts and generic purchases I prefer RockAuto. These guys are Fast, Correct and Cheap.
They usually spank the parts store on price and have a very complete website for all cars and trucks.
I have spent hundreds with them and have never been disappointed.


Don't forget we have awsome board members on the parts board!

I will 2nd this, but you are in TX. Another thing to consider is Board
Vendors that come to shows in your area. (No shipping fees/taxes)

My vote also goes to Tim Christian. He is honest and will do you right. I bought a truck load from him at Maggie valley and getting up another order for him to bring to the Board Meet in July. He and his sons have some real sharp trucks built by them and are driven everywhere. They know what they're doing and I trust them completely.

Lay down those mass marketing catalogs (by the tiolet is a good place) and look over the site supporting vendors list on the home page.I use the fat cat catalogs for reference and buy from the guys who recognize you as a fellow truck builder.It`s best to fnd who`s close on bigger items to save on shipping costs.

You can also Try Outback Truck Parts in Spring. They're good people and usually have everything in stock. I go there to pick my stuff up so it saves on shipping:D
