Pictures of late model bench seats

I have seen some threads with pics of bucket seats and I like the looks of buckets definately, but I want the extra seating. I would like to see some pictures of some late model bench seats (preferably the ones with the fold down center console), what they came out of, and if there was any trouble putting them in.

88 - 98 chevy GMC truck...needs a couple washers as spacers, very comefortable, but sits a little too high. (pic is in a burb...but same deal for a truck, did it once)

Pic is in a burb? That looks like a window behind the seat, to me, Andy.

Mine came out of 90 Chevy. Height seems about normal for this style. The ones from my 96 are inch or so higher. Very comfortable. Love them alot more than the stock seats.

Out of a '98 GMC extended cab. Manual slide with power pneumatic lumbar support. Fits perfect! even uses the original bolt holes in the floor (had to drill a few extra and make a 4" spacer bar)

This is what I used but it was free, just had to bring it back from Fla. to S.C..It doesn't have the arm rest but it is nice for all three of us to ride in.
I was on vacation visiting my folks and my dad's friend had just put a new bucket seat conversion in his truck. I used the late model seat belts and all with shoulder harness and everything. All you have to do is drill new holes and use BIG washers for suppport under the floorboard.

the seat cost about $170.00 from truckandrv.com plus shipping. the seats actually pull up for access to underneath, it also has a fold down arm rest. i need to drill and do some mods to the mount brackets (again thanks to "frost89434" for his help and wisdom), it comfy and i can use the existing seatbelts too!:D

frisky68 11-12-2002 09:07 PM

Just picked up my mid Suburban seat from Truck and Rv Supply.....same seat as Nevada's up above....huge upgrade from the old bench seat....actually sit up in the truck for a change...

Hey Nevada...what kind of mod's are you looking to do to your seat ?? I have mine temp. mounted for now...

Project1970 11-12-2002 09:20 PM

Whoa...never even thought about the middle seat...I was looking at getting my original bench reupholstered but that looks like it might be cheaper!

frisky68 11-12-2002 09:45 PM

I picked mine up for 150.00 + tax....couldnt believe all the seats they had there...thay have 3 more of the seats that nevada and I have now. Definately cheaper than reupholstering...and a much firmer seat as well

95 Burb 2nd Seat

1 Attachment(s)
Here's another 2nd seat like nevada70's. This is from a 95 burb and was purchased at a place in Northeast Missouri for about $150. That was 6 years ago though, not sure what the seats would cost today. Installation was very simple, I just cut down a middle bracket and spaced everything up. It does sit a little higher than stock, but I prefer that.:bowtie:

jmil1974 11-12-2002 10:36 PM

Anyone got a leather bench with the integrated shoulder belts?

Sammy 11-12-2002 11:08 PM

Something I noticed about all the pic's everyone posted. None have the gas tank behind the seat...Does this mean to install those seats it requires relocation of the gas tank???? By the way they look very good some good ideas...

useRc10 11-12-2002 11:23 PM

i found a set of seats out of an '89 crownvictoria that i like...they are buckets but come close together in the middle o seat a 3rd....they are close to perfect condition and are power and i payed $18 a piece for them...alll i had to do was adjust it up in height...they fit with the tank...i will post pics if i every get around to taking some and getting them scanned

Piston 11-12-2002 11:23 PM

I've still got the in-cab gas tank but the center console wont flip up unless I move the seat forward about 2 inches, flip the console them move the seat back.

I will be moving the tank this winter though. More room for speakers and my nitrous bottle.

90 red bench seat

:bowtie: I installed the exact red 90 seat with the fold down arm rest in my 78 stepside. I had to make a new pedestal to get it to sit lower. jay

Primered_69 11-13-2002 10:45 AM

I just bought some seats this weekend out of a 99 Chevy truck and they fit right in like they were meant to. I will have to drill some holes but I like them a lot better than the 88 Chevy bench seat that I was going to recover. I got them for $100 at a junk yard.

I will try to get some pics of them this weekend to post. They look pretty good and have built in seat belts.

carpet

hey slick and frisky....how did you do the carpet? mine are just mounted for the time being, i'll waiting til winter is over. also, i'm going to do the rubberized coating on the interior do cut down on the noise. slick do you have a pic of how you did your carpet? frisky, just cut the mount bracket to make a place for the hump in the floor. i also drilled through the seat slides to have a fixed forward position. i still have my tank in the cab also. it was a cool find....:D
