There are no such things as "normal" plans. Every truck owner plans his build to be unique to his likes, and the overall picture of what he wants/needs the truck to be. Welcome, from central Indiana. Post some pictures of your project when you get a chance.

I always say start with the breaks, steering, and suspension. It doesn’t matter what you do to it, if you can’t control it or stop it, it’s not worth it. Other then that just be ready to replace stuff you didn’t plan on replacing and you’ll be fine. Good luck and welcome from Colorado’s West Slope.

well idk how much these truck usually go for but i paid 3k for mine, the ladie has owned it for 10 years... she was building it for her dad but he died 2 years ago, he drove it around town at the most so the frame has some rust from sitting in the grass and thats the only defect, she has 6800$ in receipts over the last 5 years.. the drivetrain only has 45 thousand miles on it, body and frame 80 somthing thousand..

and thanks for all the welcomes.

It sounds like your building a budget truck, be aware that a bunch of things will break your go out when your replacing some thing that you wanted to, when was looking for new wheels then my transmission went out after I fixed my transmission, then my carburater commited sucied, good luck on your truck

...set a budget and then double it. every couple of months

once you get your static drop all sorted, you'll want bags a month later.

little by little just pick away at it, it'll get there.

welcome from orlando, florida. :metal:
