camper shells
hey where can we go to get descent looking caper shells?
i have an 83 fulllength bed i pulled off the countryish headache rack and kc lights (that never worked dang PO) and the toolbox and cleaned up the bed a little, now i have a hideatool box and would like a descent looking campershell.. . not one of these tin jobs for old folks! |
Re: camper shells
This seems very localized, it costs way to much to ship these things.
Around here there are a few places that specialize in them. They have all kinds of camping type equipment too. Trailers, caps, slide-ins, etc.... There has to be something like that around you? |
Re: camper shells
i am in abilene TX, pretty small college town (in not a college KID! thank god)
but its just odd my 83 is one of the biggest trucks here... alot of fords but all i really see is "new" campers... on the newer trucks.. nothing ever on old ones.. i saw an alright looking one (used) for 500 on craigslist..thought the dude was insane.. i would really like to get a baffle or a big rubber grommet for between the cab and my (future) camper that way i can open the sliding glass and have that airflow and accessibility to the bed (trash, the dogs whatever) hmm bummer to that.. is there like a "national chain" that anyone knows of that they recommend? |
Re: camper shells
you could look into ARE or Leer online both are fiberglass cap manufacturers but new that will run at least $1100 as thats what i paid for mine new almost nine years ago for my 99 ranger of course i added some features so that added to the cost but used you could prolly find something on craigslist as here they are on there all the time
