Glove Box Question

Ok, got a possibly stupid question. What keeps your glove boxes from falling all the way open and out? If I open my latch and let go, the thing will hit the floor. There's nothing to stop it. It's a non-ac truck if that makes a diff.

Thanks in advance,

Mine has a little cable. Just like a tailgate cable but on a much smaller scale.

Mine did that when I bought it.
I placed a little rubber bumper on the inside sidewall to catch the rear of the latch.

On my 85, the inner top of the g box is formed so it will act as a stop as the door opens outward.

Thanks for the replies. SilveradoShorty has it right. I actually figured this out about 30 minutes after I posted it. I went and looked at a buddy's truck. The long piece of the insert had broken off at the bottom (where it mounts to the dash). Therefore, the glove box wasn't sitting in there right and the top couldn't catch to stop it from opening. So, my buddy gave me one out of one of his parts truck. It's an AC version and mine isn't, but doesn't really matter that much. That and the new latch he gave me should fix everything up.

I believe mine also originally had the lip. But someone did some modifing to make this non-A/C truck an A/C truck.
