Hey Swerv :)

OK hopefully next week I will have my truck back and will start dyeing the inside from blue to black. Can you give me the procedure for this again? Also tell me if you think what I've gotten will be enough. I followed your lead and used Eastwood :)

2) 13oz cans of the paint
2) 13oz of plastic prep
1) 13oz can of Vinyl Prep (New Dash Pad will already be black)
2) 13oz cans of sand free primer

P.S, I forgot to get PRE so if you feel I need more of any of the above I can add it to the order.

Thanks
Jerry

Jerry,

sounds like you got it covered. Follow the directions on the cans. If I remember correctly, it says to use the prep and let it dry. I don't think you was it off. This is what softens the vinyl to make the paint stick. Just remember to not get any oil or greasy finger prints on it before you paint it. In other words, make sure your hands are oil free when handling the stuff.

Are you sure the new dash pad will be black? The one I got from the dealer was primed gray.

So far, mine is really holding up well. You can't even tell I've ever painted anything. Looks real good. I'm well satisfied with it.

As I said above, make sure you follow the directions on the cans and you will be fine.

Oh, I didn't use any sand free primer. I only used the prep and painted it. Worked great. I bought some but never used it. It would probably be needed if you were going from a dark color to light. But, going to black I didn't have any problems.
