'92 1500 2WD stepside stock rim size?
Hey everyone,
I was planning the next phase of my truck build, I am planning to get a 2/4 static drop installed on 'Ethel' my 1992 Chevy Silverado 1500 Stepside. Can anyone tell me what the STOCK OEM RIM SIZE is for this truck...? I know the tires it has on it now are 225/75/15's, but I was looking at new wheels and tires, and for the life of me, haven't been able to figure out the offset, backspacing and bolt circle diameter of these rims... Once the drop is done, then it's on to the muffler guy for duals, and an CAI, and the window guy for a sliding rear window... Pics to follow, Stay tuned to this channel for updates as they happen... thanks for all of your comments, and suggestions! Matt |

According to tirerack, two sizes were available that year as OEM. the 225's on your truck right now or the 235/75r15

15x7 with I believe a 4" backspace. The 235's are 29" diameter tire, so if you do a 2/4 drop and don't change the rims you'll probably want around 26.5" tires. 245/60/15 will work just fine.

PERFECTO! Now, that at least gives me a ball park starting point so I can spec tires and rims.... Thanks a bunch! Matt |
