what does a front dana 60 look like ? & the differences between an np205 and a 208?
 

alright so theres a 73 long bed chevy sitting in the yard of my friends neighbors place here in Edcouch. nad its for sale.
i know its got a 14 bolt rear but what i want to know is if it has a d60 and the 205 case...
so how can i tell if its got a 205 and a d60?
what should they look like?

A Dana 60 won't be stock in a 1973 truck, but of course one could be swapped in.

Here's a pic of a 1984 Dana 60 that is going into my 69 K20 - you will see that it has three sets of u-bolts and then two studs that secure the axle to the springs.

yea i checked out the truck and its not a 73 like i thought its an 80..........something lol

the truck does in fact have a dana 60 front a full floater 14 bolt and its got the np205 in it..
the trucks been up for sale for a few years already so i dont expect it to be pricey I'l go and talk to the owner and see what i can do tomorrow

Cool! Hope you can get it for a good price. I got the 84 1 ton Crew Cab for $1000 minus the engine - was a pretty good deal. Later sold the truck minus the tranny/transfer case and front axle for $300 so for $700 my 69 K20 gains a Dana 60 front axle and gets upgraded to an NP205, can't beat that!

ok i scored the truck for 900 bucks complete..
now i jus gotta figure out where the hell ima keep it??
cant keep it at home it already looks like a car lot lol
