Hello all from Tunica Mississippi.
Just Joined! Wanted to stop and say hi, I have been reading quite a bit in the forum and have found plenty of information that seems to be quite helpful. The pictures and the overall company of all the people here are welcoming.
I own a 81 c/10 short with a I6, really love the truck. The body is in great shape with faded blue paint. I have plans to lower and add some new wheels and tires. Last Thursday just got the air working....ahhhh so nice! Friday on my way to Memphis I blew a head gasket. I have since removed the head and checking this situation out. The guy I bought the truck from told me the engine had been rebuilt 2000 miles before he sold it to me....yada yada. Well maybe this is just what I needed to add the V8 that it needs, or is that what I want? LOL Of course! Great to be here! |
Re: Hello all from Tunica Mississippi.
Well, congrats on the air - but it doesn't do much good when the truck isn't running I suppose.

Re: Hello all from Tunica Mississippi.
Wanted to say hi to all those welcomes, thanks!
Rodms, Wow your just up the road....huh, and krue is in Hattiesburg. The truck came with a 4.1 250 I6 in it, really a dog and the fuel hog surprisingly. The first week I ran the truck the alt went out and had to rebuild the carb. I have been tempted to pull the 412 out of my Z28, love the engine great street motor, ran it in a 57 2door Hardtop and a 69 SS 396 Chevelle before the Z28. Bumped into a guy yesterday that has a 350 still in a truck with all the brackets and mounts with no A/C for $250, maybe go that way. Stick it up on the stand and freshen it up a little. How about you? What is in yours? |

Re: Hello all from Tunica Mississippi.
my brother in covington tn has a 305 on a stand, told me to come get it last month before all this other came about. I need to look at the motor, see what all is there.
I bought a 83 Z28 new in high school with a 305 ran ok, blew it up....not the motors fault, operator error lol. So you know some tricks for this engine huh? You say you race? I ran over to Holly Springs last month, they had about 15-20 foot brake cars and a bucket load of s/c. |
