posi?

I've got a '66 gmc with a 454 that the PO was building as a street/strip truck. He has a mini spool in the 9". I want to put a posi in it to try and get more of the "street" part back into it. My question is what to go with. I would like it to ride well on the street, but still be able to roast both rear tires off of it when the need arises. The problem I've seen is everyone says anything with limited slip will just explode behind the 454. So what suggestions do you have for a good strong posi unit that will still allow the truck to turn corners?

I have an Auburn pro unit in my 12 bolt and love it. Its held up fine to many years of street driving as well as hard launches on slicks. As long as you are light on the throttle going around corners, you wont have any problems.

There are many Eaton fans on here. They are a good unit, but while I was working at a driveline shop we had many more issues with them than the auburn units (which we had none).

Do a search on em.. there has been quite a few threads about comparing the pro's and cons of each

Spool here on the street no problems just sucks if theres sand on the road and rain is interesting. I would go with auburn or detroit gear type locker.
