2x4 to 4x4 conversion
 

I have a 1972 two wheel drive 3/4 ton pickup I want to convert to four wheel drive. Will later model (1973-1987) parts interchange? If modifications are necessary to make the later model parts work, how significant are the mods? Thanks.

Thanks. I looked, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. It's much easier to find 4x4 rolling chassis for later model trucks. I was hoping for more details about using a later model for donor parts. Thanks again.
