Re: 383 sbc
How many hours are on it? its not a deal if it needs a $2000 freshening up within the first 5 passes

Re: 383 sbc
It sounds like a decent piece but you could build a 496 with decent pieces for that kind of cash! If you bought wisely maybe even larger.

Re: 383 sbc
It is worth 8g with the parts but i would not build a SB for that much $ unless i was required to or it was twin turboed... 8g on a big block can get you over 600hp easily.

Re: 383 sbc
The heads are the weak link here,, I've built motors with the 170 and the 200cc e-tec's and they are kick butt heads,,,, for a street head. That's not a race head and your now stuck with that Vortec style Vic Jr. I'd pass on the whole deal as for that $ you could easily have a 650HP sbc,,, and this one will NOT get you there.
The Lunati ProMod and Pro Billet rods are a I beam not a H beam,, I don't think Luanti made a H beam except for the LS1 packages, but I could be wrong on that. Point is, something sounds amiss, make sure the guy is giving your the straight skinny on the internals. |
