What color is this??? paint code???
 

This truck is what I believe to be a 82 long bed scotsdale. someone painted it a flat mint green...its so ugly...anyways I want to paint it back the original colors fix some problems and flip it to fund some of my projects.... I chipped away at the paint and it looks like the top of the truck was this root beerish brown and the bottom was white...... When I get the paint.. what code or color do I tell them????? BTW the truck I think has been revined or atleast rebodyed because the title calls it a 78 and I know its newer but it does have a turbo 400 trans and full time 4wd front...so hell if I know.. I think the chassis might be a 78 with a newer body... The thing is so solid, it has a little dent and a little rust in the passenger fender I guess from the battery but thats it... The rest of the truck is so straight and solid I am just going to replace that fender fix a few dings, strip prime and paint and install some new trim tape..

what color are these two trucks???? I may go solid color like the 80 or like this 82.. One of the two.. I just dont want to repaint the dash and stuff.. After seeing that clean 80...I may just paint a single color..

The dashboard shot in the first pic looks exactly like my truck.

On the SPID i have:
ZY1 Solid Paint
61D LAA1 Med Almond SP C
68L 68 Mahogany Metallic

I'm curious why it says solid paint, but it's two tone and has both colors listed.

i dunno what color that green is but i can tell you that that is the exact same color they use here in NYC for the parks department vehicles.. they take every truck and paint em like that and its putrid...

you could find the best spot on the dash and have the body shop color match it.

I believe the bottom one is the same as the national forest service color

Looks like it could be Light Bronze Metallic. Check THIS site full of brochures for the factory colors. You cant really read the colors on the '82 truck brochure but if you check the Blazer and Burb you can. Also HERE are the PPG paint chips for the 82-84 trucks.

My 82, had the paint code printed inside somewhere (forgot where off the top of my head) but it also is the Mahogany Metallic which according to the big book was not a standard color that year.

But does look like it was an available color for the Corvette in 81'

I plan on when i get the rust spots fixed having it sprayed all that color, then redoing the wide pin striping.

same color as mine was originally. as far as i can figure it dark bronze metallic, i got ahold of the color code and had the paint shop mix up some spray cans of it, and it is an exact match! i think the code was 68, 1983 color

That Root Beer Brown or Mahognay Metallic is a great color the metlal flake will glisten in the sun awesomely

Was tooling around today thought i would grab a shot of this, and the color underneath the window i used to prop the service ID tag up is the Mahogany Metallic.
