Progress...
Well I can't say i've got too much done but I have done some things, mostly spent money.
First went ahead and got the rad support cleaned up and i've begun cleaning the frame, I love oven cleaner!! It's not perfect but pretty good considering I used steel wheel and a wire wheel and about 4 hours of my time. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...Radsupport.jpg Then the money spending began. I decided stock wheels were in order so I got some nice dog dish ones but came across some full wheel covers as well so bought them too, now I have choices. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...x/wheelpic.jpg Then Critter gave me the great idea to get some 1971 plates ( he already has some 72's for his blazer) so I found these brand new unissued plates online for 60 bucks, so I bought those too. They are in perfect shape. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...1971plates.jpg That's it for now, cleaning takes a long long long time, more than I ever knew so i'll be doing that for awhile still. |
Re: Progress...
Progress is always good. I need to post pics of my 72 plates as well. Oh yeah, nice saw horses.

Re: Progress...
I've been thinking about getting a set of '72 plates. Only place I know of is ebay. Where'd you get yours?

Re: Progress...
Mine and Jtrux's both came from EBay. Actaully, they were right here in S.A. but were from different sellers. Anyway, a nice un-used set can be had for under $100 pretty much any day of the week. For some reason the 72s were more expensive than most of the earlier years...seems strange that it's not the other way around.

Re: Progress...
Not sure if y'all have a vendor in your area that does this but. There is a guy that shows up to all the local Houston swap meets and not only does he sell all of the vintage plates, but he also has un used original inspection and registration stickers for all of the years past. He said that if your vehicle is titled as historical you can use those stickers and not have to put the new ones on to drive on the street.

Re: Progress...
I've got used vintage tags for both of my trucks. Around here at the swap meets, used vintage tags are in the $5 - $10 range. I can't recall what the unused tags were priced - I think the year I was looking there were no unused ones for sale in the year that I was looking for.
