SBC/BBC HEI For Sale
I do not need this anymore and decided to let it go. It has a used stock coil, like new accel cap/rotor (only about an hour run time), and a used in cap accel super coil. Worked great as I tried both coils.
$50 plus shipping Thanks! Mike |

Re: SBC/BBC HEI For Sale
Hello GeoMan, is it an HEI? What year truck or car did it come off of?
Thanks, Rick |
Re: SBC/BBC HEI For Sale
Rick,
Yes, it is a HEI distributor with vacuum advance. I am not sure what year it is right this second. I will try and find a part number ont he case and try to look it up. It came from my 350 that was in my 67. It was rewired to accept an HEI. I can take pics also and email those if you can provide me an address. Thanks! Mike |

Re: SBC/BBC HEI For Sale
Hi,
What kind of wear do you see on the cam for the mech advance? If it is in good condition I will take it. Bud |
Re: SBC/BBC HEI For Sale
Hi Bud,
I am not sure if I follow your question. The wear pattern on the gear drive looks good and normal. It has a vacuum canister and not just mechanical. Hopefully I answered your question, if not, let me know and I will try and be more specific. As far as the cam, it looked fine on its drive as well. Thanks! Mike |
Re: SBC/BBC HEI For Sale
OK,
I will try to provide a little more detail. I have a HEI dist now but the mech advance weights have worn the cam surfaces to a point where the mech advance does not function properly. The cam surfaces I am talking about are at the top of the drive shaft where the rotor screws on. If you take the rotor off you should see two springs with weighted arms that slide against a cam or shaped steel part. If everything is proper the weights side surfaces should be square to the lage sides and where they contact the cam that surface should also be square to the sides. On mine the weights had enough slop in the bushings that they wore the cam surfaces at an angle. Take a look under the rotor and hopefuly this makes some sense. Bud |
Re: SBC/BBC HEI For Sale

Re: SBC/BBC HEI For Sale
Hi,
The good news is I receivied the HEI Tuesday and I opened the box yesterday. Then bad news is the cap has a crack top to bottom? Did you by chance insure it? |
Re: SBC/BBC HEI For Sale
Crap!!!!!!!!! That is only the second time in 10 years that Ihad a part damaged. No I did not insure it...
Tell you what, I will reimburse you the cost of a new accel cap. Sound ok? If you have paypal, let me know, if not I can send you a money order out in the morning. Just send me your address if we go this route. Sorry about this...we will make it right for you. Thanks Mike |
