'63 door latch?

Who makes a good door latch and striker? The ones from LMC don't seem to last to long.

It's hard to say. I mean a lot of companies are selling them like Brothers for instance, but they are all probably made by the same manufacturer so... I guess you could search eBay and other sources for an NOS piece, I'm sure NOS will be your best bet for getting a quality product. Best Wishes in your search.
