Upper Radiator Hose Help !

Back in August I pulled the motor and transmission.. finally got both rebuilt and am getting the old girl back together.. just in time for winter : (

Anyway ... does anybody have info on the upper radiator hose.. Pics of original set up?? I thought I have seen some with a steel connector pipe to two short hoses. If available where? If not does anybody have a part number for a hose that fits well...?

Pictures of reassembly coming soon!!! THanks!!

If you want to run the steel connector, you'll have to find one used. I believe that I was able to get a hose from a 73+ to work just fine (it was quite a while ago so I'm not sure if that was exactly what worked.)

Prolly be easier and cheeper to just go get a flex hose, just make sure the one you buy has the spring inside of it to ensure it does not collaps once it gets hot.
The factory look has a long steel bent hose inbetween two rubber ends..I have only seen pics of this so..

Here is what I've been able to come up with. Upper radiator hose: Gates part #20827 or Napa part # NBH 7459. Lower hose: Gates part #20694 or Napa part # NBH 7463.

Gates 20827 is a perfect fit. I am not a fan of the metal pipe, it just adds two more connections to potentially leak. I think I have one laying around somewhere.

Why not get a picture of what you want, go to your local parts store, and walk thru their hoses, and find two that will float your boat, and THEN go to the local exhaust shop, and ask them to bend you a piece of 1 1/2 in or what ever to get what you want. You might think about powdercoating the tubing to keep it from rusting also.

I think the metal hoses are the best invention since the wheel. About 30 some years ago I replaced the rubber ends with gas filler tube hose.(heavy rubber) And it's still their. Sure can't say that about any of my other cars hoses. I figure it'll probably outlast me. I'm not a fan of flex hoses. When I see flex hoses, or red heater hoses, they kinda turn me off. But that's just my opinion. This is mine after 36 years. I've never even had to paint it. Good luck on your quest. I'm sure they're tough to find. But great if you can.

I posted a WTB looking for one a while back and received a few responses and ended up buying one. They are out there...

I have one that has a couple of small dents that could easily be repaired with some filler. It has been media blasted no rot through but there is a bit of pitting on the end, would be covered by Rubber Hose.
