Re: End of the cruise season
Well the season is just beginning here in AZ....Our summer is your winter....LOL....Hell, local cruise-in's are just firing up!
9 months of Heaven and 3 months of hell....I'm glad the summer is over....even though it wasn't too bad this summer! Dan |
Re: End of the cruise season
Yeah,it`s a bummer. But,I always seem to get out on a cruise or two over winter. It all depends on the salt,as far as the `72 goes.Winters a great road trip time because there`s not as much to do.and it`s getting out while staying warm.

Re: End of the cruise season
Cruise season is almost over for us (through Nov). That just means a couple of Christmas parades and then we got til March to finish the winter projects. Then,...the season starts again!!!!! I cant wait!!

Re: End of the cruise season
Great thread and great illustrations!! :chevy:
Since my K20 is my DD, winter is just another season... in fact, that's when it is truly in its element. Heater/defroster isn't quite up to modern standards, but she'll be getting me there in conditions that keep lesser vehicles at home -- or stuck. :D |
Re: End of the cruise season
Woo-Hoo.... Winter!
Thanks for the reminder Andy! |
Re: End of the cruise season

Re: End of the cruise season
Look on the bright side Longhorn man, with the trucks nestled in the warm (or at least warmer) garage and all the snow outside, it gives you a reason to work on the truck. You know do all those little tasks that need to be done but there was no time for during cruise season. Now if anyone lives up north in the snow and they dont have a garage so the truck sits out in the yard all winter then... This would be a depressing time of the year.
|
Re: End of the cruise season
Thanks Longhorn! I have been putting all of my yard equipment, boat, etc. away & putting Sta-Bil in everything, but I didn't even think to put it in my 72 until I saw this post.

Re: End of the cruise season
LOL!!! Both my truck live on the curb... no garage. That's a double whammy becouse the burb was down literally all summer for the work I did, it was a spring and fall cruiser this year.
The longhorn is the winter beater with a heater. Here's the view from the snow storm last march... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1221091442 |
Re: End of the cruise season
Yeah, you're right. And as soon as I "put the old girl away" I'm going to have to do something about the truck too! :)
|
Re: End of the cruise season
Bite your tongue on the white powder stuff. Could wait till hunting season starts then go away. Don't want that ice this year, but both trucks are ready to go. Got there deer killer bumpers.

I guess one advantage of living in Arizona, it was 89 degrees today, clear and beautiful...

I moved 700 miles to get away from that crap! But I do remember this was the time of year I swapped the plates from the 67 to the 86 'yota beater.
Cool pics/write up :) almost forgot... it does snow like once every 6 years... |
Re: End of the cruise season
Blue skies and warm weather here in sunny Cypress, Texas. The local cruise night runs for another three weekends before they close for the holidays.
