RIP - 1972 4wd CST Blazer (aka "GQ")
In 2 days I will follow down that road of many others here
and take a Perfect(ly) good Blazer and destroy it. She had been for sale for a lil over a year with no reasonable bites. I could just sink more $ into "Merlot" but I think having the Flawless CA body already here makes a lot more sense. We have big, big plans this weekend and there are sure to be a few pictures taken. I will try to start a build thread post as soon as I get further, already having some stuff Powder Coated as I type and the future plans for what will now be called "YFTSB". More details to come and some insight as to what I am doing can be found in the named siggy linky. I know some who read this will probably enjoy this smiley. :waah: |
Re: RIP - 1972 4wd CST Blazer (aka "GQ")
I think it's the best direction. Did you sell Merlot or the rolling chassis?

Re: RIP - 1972 4wd CST Blazer (aka "GQ")

Build it your way. |
Re: RIP - 1972 4wd CST Blazer (aka "GQ")

Re: RIP - 1972 4wd CST Blazer (aka "GQ")
Hey LUV.... quick questions. I checked out your CD page on YFTSB, and noticed you're going tublar with static pieces. Is there a benefit to running tublar pieces up front vs. running stock?
Don't mean to hijack or change the subject... Back to the new project at hand!!! :D |
Re: RIP - 1972 4wd CST Blazer (aka "GQ")
I wanna go that way in case I ever change my mind about
bags. (Right now I am not interested) It seemed that down the road converting would be easier. Also the direction I'm going with this I can do the road course at the GG shows. (Some say the tubular is stronger, but that is debatable) Some would say it's $ wasted, but hey it is MY MONEY :D and Bouncy, the answers to your ?'s are NO & of course NO, lol |
Re: RIP - 1972 4wd CST Blazer (aka "GQ")
I wasn't sure if there was a plus to running them vs. stock with a static setup or not.
Thanks for the info LUV, best of luck! |

I still prefer a 4x4 over a 2wd, but I do look forward to another cool build thread. I'm subscribed.
R.I.P. GQ. :whine: |

$135 for the rear end housing and that included the blasting. It was like $500 for the frame I think, and they have a frame dolly. |
Re: RIP - 1972 4wd CST Blazer (aka "GQ")
Are you still looking for that upper grille pc. for the '67 front end??

Re: RIP - 1972 4wd CST Blazer (aka "GQ")

Re: RIP - 1972 4wd CST Blazer (aka "GQ")
Sounds like a good project to me.
One day when I finish my Dad's truck that I am building - I will start my hunt for a 2wd again or even a chassis to work with... |
