Just procured my donor truck

At last I have found a sweet deal. This truck will serve as my 5 lug, disc brake, power steering and other assorted goodies donor truck. Scored for a mere 100 bones. The truck gods have blessed me as the rest of the day has been crap

Glad you found a good donor truck. Everyday is a good day, it's just that some days are better than the others.

Definitely a good score!! You can use everything you want off of it, sell whatever other good parts are left and then crush the hull and come out way ahead!

Yea for sure. I was gonna take the rear out and swap it but found out it has 2.73 gears. I have 3.54 gears in my Dana 44. I may just have the axles and drums worked over to a 5 lug configuration. I wanted to take the column as well but it has a ton of slop in it. It would cost more to rebuild it than it is worth

That's a sweet deal....especially for $100. Are you sure it has 2.73 gears? I personally have not seen a pickup with that tall of gears. I'd pull the cover if you haven't already. That newer rear end will also have bigger brakes than your 44......something to consider too. If the slop in the steering column you're talking about is in the tilt, that can be fixed easy enough.
