well got the fenders on the truck off and have been working the last 2 days on them. Here are some update pics and of course I will post more when they are done. Also just got in my A pillar patches so next week it is inner and outer rocker, cab corner, floor support, Apillar time on both sides. Fun all around.

This would be my first time with major sheet metal replacement. My Nova and VW bug were very solid cars. I was amazed at how much dirt and crap was in there. I have pictures of what Ipulled out of the cab corners and the a pillar and rocker area... nasty! Something fuzzy once was in there. Not no more.

Holy crap!!!! You'll probably get couple miles to the gallon improvement with all that gravel outta there. I cleaned out my cab and doors and had a pile of dirt on the ground!!!

Nice work on the patch; your inner fender support looked pretty good.

Re: Pull out the cutter and the welder time

speaking of MPG I have guaged what I get a gallon. Van 13.8 Nova 10.5 lol and the truck dont know cuz the gas guage dont work!!

Between the fenders and the Apillars I pulled out enough crap to fill a small waste basket that once was in my bathroom.

fender patch from classic ind. Gave me best price and I had a 20% coupon. If you get a catalog from them and place an order they send out coupons!! I guess I spent enough with them on the nova!!

Got some more rot cut out and replaced. This was a tricky spot. Between the door jam and the heater box on the pas side. The driver side is perfect but no the case with the pas side. Still have to finish and dress the patch but just wanted to post what I had. It took 3 pieces to make the complex bends and shapes. Well this is what I came up with. Its a very very tight spot.

It's always nice to see pictures, it makes such a difference when you finally get to dive into something and know what you are potentially going up against. Sweet!
