"New" lower A-arm question.
1 Attachment(s)
Why do you need to weld-in an 8" or 10 " ID pipe around the bag? Cant you just weld in a plate at the bottom of the a arm and cut a hole in the upper half? I mean you can add supports and such, but It just seems like it would have the same effect. If you welded the plate in all the way around and used 3/8".?
(Sorry to bogart the pic jlard) |
Re: "New" lower A-arm question.
That would probably work, others would know better than me. Just make sure you cut enough out of the top area to have plenty of room around the bag. Here's how I did mine

Re: "New" lower A-arm question.
Well not that is necessary for everybody, but I dropped my cups lower than the bottom of the arm, so mine actually rides lower than plating the bottom
But I definitely like that idea  |
Re: "New" lower A-arm question.
I think I am going to do that. I like the idea of the pipe but I agree that this is also a good idea.
Question...When I install the lower a arm, is it centered between the mount & u bolts equally? |
Re: "New" lower A-arm question.
There should be lil "pins" that stick out of the X-member & some holes in the cross shaft of the A-arms to line them up
IIRC when I put mine on my truck the front hole is the one you line up to  |
Re: "New" lower A-arm question.
about those little pins....There not the ones in between the ubolt holes are they? Gotta pic?

cool, are those shafts "handed" meaning is the bolt on the right or left side of shaft or no matter...equally spaced.
