Thanks Mike but now that I look at your pictures I need a bell-shaped one also. Too bad I can't use it... It is up for grabs for anyone else.

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

I can't remember what you are trying to do, but if it is just run that PS...you only need the matching crank pulley and you are done. There is only one separate belt driving the PS and it doesn't go around the wp, but you probably already know that.

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

Even with a three pulley crank pulley (which I need as well) it won't reach this PS pump... I need to pickup a crank pulley and then get an exact measurement...

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

Mike,is your K-10 a 327 and is it supposed to be the same as a 68 C-10?
If so,I have a factory original 68 C-10,327(no A/C)and my water pump pulley is different than yours'.Mine are steel not cast iron.
Your alternator bracket is the same.
I'll stick mine together tommorrow and see what works.
I'm trying to add factory A/C to mine and have to re-arrange all the front engine parts.
Is power steering and alternator the only ones you are going to have on your engine?
I haven't pulled the pulley off one of these pumps yet.Are they hard to get off?
I know I have more than one bell shaped pulley, but I'm still not sure what you need exactly.
Mike.

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

This is a 68 327 with short water pump. It has the three gorrve water pump pulley because it also use to have the bracket for a smog pump option...

I only plan on running the alt and PS for now but air could be in the far future...

let me see pics of yours if you get a chance...thanks

I will try to use a pulley puller to get this off... haven't pulled one yet.

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

If you will give me the measurement from the back of the pump to the front of the pulley, I will come up with the correct matching crank pulley to work with the setup you have. I am pretty sure it is the common two groove cast pulley. Let me see a better pic of your mounting brackets...looks like the HD 69-71 style.

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

O.K.Mike,I just drove down to my shop to look at my stuff.
So,here goes---
My truck has aftermarket A/C,but it looks to use the same set-up as factory A/C.
It has a single groove pulley on the pump for the alt.It has a seperate idler for the A/C.
The crank has a 6-3/4" balancer with a 3 groove cast iron pulley. The power steering pump uses only the outer groove on the crank, not the water pump pulley. The second groove is the A/C.The inner groove is the alt.
I have 2 set-ups from 70,71 or 72 for factory air that I plan to use. These have a 4 groove crank pulley. The 2 inners are steel and the 2 outers are iron.My top pulleys are steel 3 groove(I still need one, which is why I asked about yours).I'm going to assemble these tommorrow to see how they fit.Once I determine what I need,I will be glad to send you what I can't use and hopefully what you need.
I have seven pumps---3 are like yours( which is what is on my truck at this time),flat pulley.3 are the off-set or bell shaped pulleys, like you want, and one is a double that came from a big-block truck.
I think you have the correct one already(as said above)and now you need the 3 groove crank pulley. It is the same diameter as the balancer.6-3/4".
So,tommorrow night I can tell you what will work.
Mike.

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

I need a bell-shaped PS pulley because mine was bent by the PO. If you have a spare and Mike doesn't need it, will you sell one to me? Let me know.

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

Even with a three groove pulley this pump won't work on mine...

I need a bell shaped PS pulley, just not sure which on until I get the crank pulley as well. I can estimate the third groove on the crank and measure the PS pump...

I can't get those until tomorrow night though.

If you could save me a 3 groove crank and bell shaped PS pulley then I'll let you know for sure on Saturday.. I have a dual alt pulley so the two inner grooves run that...

thanks

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

Mike(Msgross),I'm using the sheet metal p.s. pump brackets on mine.I have 2 p.s.pump brackets like yours.I'll see what fits in the morning. If I send you a crank pulley,it will be the 2 piece 4 groove.(after I check to see if it fits with your flat pulley or the off-set pulley{bell-shaped}).
To all,I have 3 of the bell shaped pulleys and only need one.BUT,I know there 2 different bell shaped pulleys. The ones I have are the more shallow ones. There is a deeper one that I don't have.
I still don't know the correct way to get the pully off the pump.I'm assuming that you hold the nut and turn the allen screw counter-clockwise?Or,I could hold the pulley and put my impact on the nut?Can someone help me out here?

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

C10-Driver,when I get all mine done, hopefully this week-end,I'll be happy to send a pulley to you.
Right now,I have a set made up for my 65 Caprice and am installing it.Can't get the lower timing gear off and that's holding me up.
The other ones go on my 68 Chevy truck, but it only needs to be installed to make sure everything works.
Either way,I can get you a pulley,as I have no use for them after this.
I've not shipped to Canada before, but I don't see any problems.

Mike,I already have pictures, but I'm way behind transfering them to the picture host.My computer is having trouble staying on-line.
The phone co. has been trying to fix it for 2 months now!
Everytime it rains,I have trouble for days!
Maybe tomorrow?

Sounds great. Let me know what you want for it and when you're ready, I'll send you some money for the pulley and shipping. USPS works great for small items... I have shipped and received items through "regular mail" and had no problems.

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

Mike(msgross),on the pulley thing---I got the pulley off the pump after ruining one pulley and the pump on the good pulley! They don't come off very easy!
On your set-up(flat pulley),my stuff won't work.
My 2 piece/4 groove crank pulleys and the bell shaped pump pulley(on the steel pump mount) will work together. And also work with the original A-6 a/c compressor.Your iron p.s. mount puts the pulley 1/4" farther out than my steel p.s.mount.
I can't say they will work with your w.p. pulley.
My stuff came from a 70/71/72 truck.
So, you decide what you want to do and I will help however I can.
I think the best thing would be to try to find the correct crank pulley for yours.
It is going to be the 3 groove cast iron,as that is what is on my 68.All I need on it is the 2 groove w.p. pulley to complete it for a/c.
Mike.

Re: FS or Trade PS pulley - central PA

Mike, contact Livrat on this site.He may have what you need in a complete 68 set-up.
Also sent you some pictures by e-mail.
Maybe we can get all this straightened out by Christmas!
So far the set-up I put on my 65 Caprice is working well, except I blew the high-side hose on the p.s.
Now working on my 57's a/c install.Under-dash with A-6 pump.
I'll work on my 68 under the hood install this week-end.Just need to add the w.p. pulley and a/c brackets.
I'm not slow,I just don't have much time!
