What is the difference between this "NEW" custom upper trim piece and the regular/standard full width lower tailgate trim piece?

The upper tailgate trims and the lower full width trims have a completely different profile to the moulding. These trims when placed next to the taillight trim bezels carry that shape of the taillight bezels across the tailgate. If you have a lower tailgate trim and an upper left or right, compare them to each other and you will see. It sounds like Mar-K has made an upper that is one full length piece for the people using a tailgate cover or handle hole welded shut.
