Thats pretty old school what excatly is the look your going for?
|
Re: stepped lower control arms
a cheap way of lowering as i have a welder and a way to get some steel.
|
Re: stepped lower control arms
or is it better to go with dropped spindles ahd springs. iam wanting about 4/6 drop
|
Re: stepped lower control arms
Are you leaf or coil in the back. You can cut one loop off the front springs to get alittle lower..
|
Re: stepped lower control arms
coil in the back. it looks like the PO cut the bottom part of the sping off and welded flat bar to it then bolted that to the trailing arm
|
Re: stepped lower control arms
For a mild drop like that I think I would just get some springs.

Re: stepped lower control arms
who would you recomened?
|
Re: stepped lower control arms
You could search e bay or pay 25 bucks to be a supportin memeber her and posta want to buy thread and I am sure there are some boarmembers here who would sell you a set for a reasonable price. Or summit raceing also has the springs.

Re: stepped lower control arms
Here's how to step the LCAs if you want to go that route. I'm planning on stepping them 2" on my '64, with 3" drop springs. It looks really straightforward if you trust your welding skills, or you can fab it up and tack it together, then take it to a professional to weld it up.

Re: stepped lower control arms
A lot of trouble for no more drop than it gives. Take out the coil spring and cut one round off ... cheaper ... faster ... and not near the "ruh roh" factor in case you weld something up a little crooked.
